Who we are

Supporting the Circular Economy

We are a circular economy business, working to keep office furniture in the economy as long as possible.

Why a Circular Economy?

A circular economy works by moving products around in a loop: they are used, collected, refurbished, and used again. It’s not just about eliminating waste, it’s about creating opportunities and encouraging innovation in the way we approach business and collaboration. It’s a world where we think about the whole lifecycle of a product, assigning value to everything and wasting nothing.

The success of a circular economy is dependent on us. All of us. It’s our role to inspire and promote new thinking, to educate, and to support the increasing number of organisations looking at the benefits and value in the circular economy.

Saving office furniture from landfill

In 2022, we supported organisations from across Scotland in adopting a circular approach to their office furniture.

255,000
kg saved from landfill
The majority of the UK's carbon footprint comes from the production, consumption and waste of goods and materials. Every item we save from landfill helps provide a solution to this problem.
3,000
from one to another
Office furniture deserves a second chance (or a third, or fourth). It's what we're here for. We found new homes for 3,000 furniture pieces, delivering them from one organisation to another.
97.4%
reused or recycled
We're pretty proud of that. But it's still a work in progress. Our aim is to improve this number even more, finding a sustainable answer to all of the furniture that comes our way.

We can’t get there alone

As a wider team, we’re passionate about designing, building, and shaping sustainable, collaborative workplaces that bring our communities together. We believe in the value of delivering community benefits, offering training opportunities, work experience placements, and contributing to local charities and community projects. Here’s some examples of our social impact.

Adding social value

We partner with local charities, schools, and colleges to provide low-cost, quality furniture. With our economical price point, these organisations can furnish their offices, local amenities, and houses while still maintaining their budgets for charitable objectives.

Training partnerships

Our long-term partnership with the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) delivers secure work-based activity for those in-custody to obtain transferable skills and practical experience. The partnership to date has contributed to approximately 8,500 social value hours, providing individuals within the SPS with valuable skills and work experience.

Community projects

We helped East Ayrshire Council furnish a new employability hub in Kilmarnock town centre. This hub, named 'SL33' (Skills & Learning 33), is a purpose-built facility designed to meet the training needs of unemployed young people and school learners at risk of disengagement.
