Success story

Cundall

When sustainable engineering and design consultancy Cundall planned their Edinburgh office move, they didn’t just aim for sustainability, they wanted to prove that circular doesn’t mean compromise. Their move from Semple Street to Clarendon House is a perfect example of reuse done right.

Working together, we managed to reuse, refurbish, and recycle 273 furniture items for an estimated carbon savings of 8,121kgCO2e.

Reuse
44 items saving 1,438kgCO2e
Cundall's new sit/stand desks are reused from a bank in London, which we collected, transported and installed in their new office. Additionally, they sourced storage lockers from our reuse stock.
Refurbish
49 items saving 1,481kgCO2e
We reupholstered existing round and high stools; booth seating; high back stools; reception, canteen and meeting room chairs; and a pool table, as well as re-engineering their kitchen high table.
Recycle
180 items saving 5,202kgCO2e
21 items have new homes, and we're just getting started! We'll keep cycling these items through the circular economy. What we can't find new homes for, we'll break into component parts and recycle.

This project wasn't just about ticking sustainability boxes, it was about showing what's possible when you truly commit to circular principles. The quality and feel of Cundall’s new space proves that reused doesn't mean second best.
